Definitely have experienced the “pop & soda” thing because I’m from Connecticut & lived in Ohio for a couple years. They say pop, we say soda.

So, I live in New York now, but I’m originally from Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh has a lot of idioms and colloquialisms which label anyone who doesn’t use them/know what they mean as “non-Pittsburghers”. It may seem innocuous, but I would argue that sometimes there is some nasty intent behind it. It’s a weird elitism.
